Orlando Magic Offseason Rumors

Orlando Magic 2023-24 Offseason Preview: Trade Possibilities, Cap Space, Draft, and More

Trade Possibilities

The Magic have a number of players who could be traded this offseason, including Markelle Fultz, Terrence Ross, and Mo Bamba. Fultz has been a disappointment since being drafted first overall in 2017, and he may be expendable if the Magic can find a better point guard. Ross is a veteran wing who has been a solid contributor for the Magic, but he is entering the final year of his contract and may be traded if the Magic can get a good return for him. Bamba has shown flashes of potential, but he has also been inconsistent and may not be part of the Magic's long-term plans.

Cap Space

The Magic have a significant amount of cap space this offseason, which they could use to sign a big-name free agent or make a trade for a star player. The Magic have been linked to several free agents, including Kyrie Irving, Deandre Ayton, and Zach LaVine. However, it is unclear if any of those players will actually be available this offseason.

Draft

The Magic have the fifth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and they could use that pick to select a player who can help them compete for a playoff spot next season. The Magic have been linked to several players in the draft, including Scoot Henderson, Amen Thompson, and Keyonte George. However, it is unclear who the Magic will actually select with the fifth overall pick.

More

In addition to trade possibilities, cap space, and the draft, the Magic also have a number of other decisions to make this offseason. They need to decide whether to re-sign Gary Harris, who is entering the final year of his contract. They also need to decide what to do with Jonathan Isaac, who has missed the last two seasons with injuries. The Magic have a lot of work to do this offseason, but they have the potential to make some major moves that could help them compete for a playoff spot next season.
